Order delivery evaluation

Order delivery evaluation is an important application of the APS system. The purpose of delivery evaluation is on-time delivery and balanced production.

Customer inquiries include two aspects, delivery time and price. Before the introduction of APS, the delivery date was very arbitrary. Business personnel could not accurately judge the delivery date. They could only make assumptions based on experience, which was often not met, resulting in delays. On the other hand, if the delivery date is not evaluated, it will also cause the order to be unevenly distributed in time, resulting in an uneven production load.

The object of delivery evaluation is orders, which includes confirmed orders and intentional evaluation orders. Evaluation orders may not be entered into the EPR system and are managed independently by the salesperson. When conducting delivery evaluation, the orders in these evaluations need to be merged with the orders that have been officially confirmed.

The specific method is to merge the confirmed orders in ERP with the intended orders compiled in Excel, and use APS to quickly schedule them together to get the delivery date of each order.

The delivery date evaluation of intended orders should not affect the promised delivery date of confirmed orders. Different priorities can be set for order types to give priority to meeting the production needs of confirmed orders.

APS has two algorithms: precise scheduling and fast planning. There is no big difference between the two algorithms in the final delivery date of the order, but there are differences in the optimization of equipment selection and switching. The delivery date evaluation method generally adopts the rapid planning algorithm.

After the latest delivery date evaluation is completed, it should be compared with the confirmed order delivery date to evaluate the impact on the original order delivery date. If the impact is unacceptable, you should modify the priority and run again.

Customers may inquire about delivery dates at any time of the day, but order sorting and APS calculations take time. If APS is used for delivery assessment, changes should be made in management, data should be organized regularly and the system should be run. The calculation can be performed once a day or once in the morning and afternoon.
